DTC provided a structural peer review service to Perkins + Will in conjunction with the design expansion of the Emergency Department at MidState Medical Center located in Meriden, Connecticut.
Construction plans for a $45 million, 100,000 sq. ft. new expansion project and 5,000 sq. ft. renovation upgrades to existing space.
The addition included a brand new Emergency Department complete with 54 private treatment spaces, 14 medical/surgical inpatient beds, a separate behavioral health area, a dedicated radiology unit as well as the construction of a four-story pavilion and new inpatient unit.
Other facility upgrades include increased parking, covered patient drop-off area and shelled space which allows for future expansion of outpatient, medical office or inpatient services, as well as an enhanced main entrance of the hospital.
