DTC provided renovations and modernizations with code updates to the Secure Operations Center at the First Lieutenant David R. Wilson Armed Forces Reserve Center, Orlando, FL. The main work was the installation of mechanical and electrical upgrades for operating SCIF. DTC customized the coils and condensers, installed split system air conditioning equipment, modified air distribution devices, installed secondary electrical service to support modifications, coordinate installation of UPS system and modified lighting. Interior features are gypsum board finishes, acoustical ceilings, vinyl composition flooring, coatings, signage and computer access flooring. Builder’s hardware, hollow metal door frames, hardwood floor and acoustical ceilings were used throughout.
Self-performance included the construction management of a general contract for the performance of DTC’s agreement with the USACE.
Key technical aspects of this project included the successful design of the integration of the mechanical and electrical components into a secure operations environment. Data system was separated from the communication system.
The systems within the Intelligence Center (Secure Operations Center) required specialized systems as noted earlier. Additionally, the project required clearance among DTC management staff and subcontractors.
