Beach Street West Haven

Project Overview

DTC was selected by the City of West Haven for the study and design associated with the reconstruction of nearly 4,000 LF of Beach Street West Haven. During Storm Sandy, the City’s Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) was temporarily inaccessible to staff and emergency vehicles due to the extensive flooding in the area.

The Beach Street project is intended to elevate the roadway by several feet in order to provide for greater resiliency against tidal flooding events, and improve access to the WWTP and for residents in the area.

The project also includes new sidewalks and a two way bike lane for future connection to a regional shoreline bikeway system.
