WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Conard and Hall High Schools’ Varsity football teams are preparing for their first game under the Friday night lights thanks to some new field lights at both schools.

Monday night was the first time the new football field lights around the West Hartford school were energized.

Last year, the Town of West Hartford hired Diversified Technology Consultants (DTC) to help plan and design the installation of athletic field lighting at both Conard and Hall High Schools, which were among only a few of the remaining schools in the area that didn’t have lights on their football fields.

DTC’s Manager of MEP Engineering, Stephen Gendreau, PE, explained that in addition to designing optimal locations and energy consumption of the light poles, DTC also met with local town officials and residents to get a sense of the community’s needs while plans were being developed.

The project also included a detailed parking analysis to forecast the parking demand for a night game, something that previously wasn’t possible.

Conard High will try to best Hall High during the game, which kicks off at 6:30 pm on November 22.
