Pawtuxet Overlook
The Pawtuxet River Watershed Council (PRWC) applied for and was chosen for a grant from the Rhode Island Open Space and Recreation Bond Fund Distressed Community Grant Program "to acquire and/or develop the premises for recreational purposes," and the Town acquired the property and performed removal and demolition actions to facilitate the "overlook." Diversified Technology Consultants (DTC) assisted the PRWC in keeping one building, a shed on the back corner of the property, was kept to facilitate canoe storage as well as hosting outdoor recreational activities on and along the river. DTC is currently assisting with the design of this ongoing river access project. DTC prepared the conceptual designs for this river restoration and access project that were presented to the town and used for display and grant application purposes, and is providing "care and custody" of the property.
