DTC provided the City of New Haven a design to install a new separate storm sewer system within 110-acres of urban residential and commercial/industrial areas as part of its efforts to eliminate combined sewer overflows. This design included the following:
- Field investigations and field survey to obtain existing information
- Research and data collection to obtain record drawings, maps, reports, and other information pertaining to the existing combined sewer system, as well as other utilities
- Preparation of base maps to be used in Contract Drawings
- Hydraulic analysis of the proposed storm sewer system
- Prepared utility test pit and soil boring Contract Documents to solicit bids to obtain necessary subsurface information for the design
- Coordinated field investigation and reviewed subsurface information to be incorporated in the design
- Prepared Contract Specifications for the proposed storm sewer system
- Prepared a bid alternate to evaluate the cost of alternative design considerations
- Prepared quality and cost estimate of the proposed storm sewer improvements
