Hall test 10 28 2013

Project Overview

The Town of West Hartford selected DTC to provide landscape architectural, civil and electrical engineering services for the creation of design documents for the implementation of athletic field lighting at Conard and Hall High Schools.

DTC met with town officials and parent organizations to develop plans suitable for permitting and construction of light poles for athletic events at the town’s two high school football stadiums.

The project entailed parking analysis and compiled data to forecast parking demand for night games. DTC worked with lighting manufacturers to optimize the location of the proposed light pole towers given the existing conditions at both football stadiums. DTC also reviewed the constructability constraints of all light pole locations given congested site envelopes at both stadiums. Particular attention was needed in order to route the electrical lines without disruption to existing fields, synthetic tracks, underground irrigation, adjacent athletic activity areas as well as affording minimal impact on paved walks and existing vegetation.

DTC prepared permit documents and a comprehensive cost estimate along with presentation graphics for both public and regulatory review. DTC attended and participated in all regulatory permit meetings and presentation.

TUpon regulatory approval, DTC prepared final drawings and specifications for bidding, assisted in the bid process and performed construction administration for the project.
