DTC Expands Management Structure
North Haven, Conn. --- The North Haven-based engineering consulting firm, Diversified Technology
Consultants, Inc., has announced the expansion of its management team
to support its continued growth and commitment to service.
DTC's
founders, Murali Atluru, Ph.D., P.E. and Leela Atluru have assumed roles
of Chairman and Vice Chairperson, respectively. The Atlurus started the
firm in 1979.
DTC's current Vice President, Sam Giavara, P.E. of Fairfield, Conn.,
has been appointed President and Chief Operating Officer, Shay Atluru
of North Haven, A. Graham Curtis of Madison and Thomas Tavella of Orange
have been promoted to Vice President.
"We are particularly
excited about this expansion to the corporate management team,"
DTC President, Dr. Murali Atluru, P.E., says. "This enables continued
growth and success with the attention to quality and service excellence."
Mr. Giavara, has more
than 38 years experience managing companies offering professional engineering,
architectural, environmental and construction project management services
and has directed major projects and programs for government, business
and industry. Mr. Giavara's professional and civic memberships include
the National Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Civil
Engineers, American Academy of Environmental Engineers, Long Island Sound
Advisory Board, University of Bridgeport Board of Associates and the Regional
Business Council's Legislative Committee. He holds a B.S. in Civil
Engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer in Connecticut,
Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, South Carolina and Florida.
Mr. Atluru has been
with DTC for more than 10 years and leads the firms federal programs group,
which provides design/build, construction administration, construction
management and program management services to the military. He has participated
in the management of design of more than $250 million in construction
value in a wide variety of construction media including housing, facilities,
treatment systems, infrastructure, and environmental systems. Mr. Atluru
holds a B.S. in Engineering and Business Administration from Vanderbilt
University and is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers,
Society for the Marketing of Professional Services, Society of American
Military Engineers and the Construction Institute.
Over the past 18 years,
Mr. Curtis has worked closely with private and government clients on a
diverse mix of civil engineering projects. He has been with DTC for more
than eight years and is responsible for all aspects of engineering design
including studies, site permitting, construction documents, bid assistance
and construction administration. Mr. Curtis, a Registered Professional
Engineer, holds a M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Connecticut
and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Connecticut
Society of Civil Engineers, Town of Madison Plan Implementation Committee
and the Town of Madison Golf Course Committee.
Mr. Tavella has more
than 16 years of experience in land use planning, landscape architecture
and urban design. He has managed design teams that have prepared feasibility
studies, master plans and site plans for downtown redevelopments, housing
developments, parks and plazas, office buildings and private estates.
Mr. Tavella holds a B.S. in Environmental Design from the University of
Massachusetts and is President of the American Society of Landscape Architects
Connecticut Chapter. He is a registered Landscape Architect in Connecticut,
Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
