Union Street Bridge, originally built in 1926, carries Union Street (Route 135) over the Sudbury River. This two-lane minor urban arterial is structurally deficient with specific problems exhibited in the scouring of both abutments. The purpose of this project is to replace the existing bridge. DTC has begun the design of this bridge as the second of three bridges that are within a contract with the State of Massachusetts.
