DTC was selected to access inventory and demand of parking for the Yale-New Haven Hospital, Yale School of Medicine and the Connecticut Mental Health Center in downtown New Haven, CT. The study focused on translating near and long term user projections into meaningful forecasts of parking demand to establish potential new facilities. In recognition of the premium of available land and the need by the community to convert surface parking to tax producing property, DTC evaluated six parking garage sites and recommended two for near and long term development.
The study evaluated parking issues and neighborhood streets and alternative restrictions by the City to address adverse employee parking. Currently three-dozen surface and structured parking facilities with 7,000 spaces are included in the three medical area campuses. |
