Team members of DTC were honored to attend the Connecticut Green Building Council Awards at the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport, CT last night to accept the Public/Institutional Award of Merit for our work on Middletown Area Transit Bus Maintenance and Storage. DTC provided engineering system design and environmental services for this 18,000 square foot bus storage, maintenance facility, and vehicle wash bay building built within a floodplain atop a reclaimed brownfield landfill. Jim Stenqvist, LEED AP and DTC Project Manager spoke on behalf of the facility he helped to design, which features a geothermal heating and cooling system, waste oil heater, methane gas evacuation system, ultra-high efficient plumbing fixtures, high efficiency LED lighting, and 95% recycled bus wash water.
